There's a quote from Lucius Annaeus Seneca that, two thousand years later, continues to dismantle one of humanity's most common alibis: "Luck doesn't exist: there's only the moment when talent meets opportunity." We often use the word "luck" to justify the success of others or to console ourselves for our own failures. But if we look closely, luck is less a roll of the dice and more an exercise in strategic preparation.
