Between popular devotion and the origins of Rome

Our interview will focus on two of his key works, each capable of touching profound and very different chords:

  • "Lady of the Sea" — Filmed two years ago, it's a deeply emotionally charged work with a religious theme. It explores faith, spirituality, and the profound connection to the sea, capable of touching the viewer on a personal level. (A work that, in live screenings, always creates a wonderful moment of discussion thanks to discussions with the director, guests, and cast members!)
  • "Pater Ennius - All Stories Lead to Rome" — A fascinating journey through the history of the Roman Empire told from a unique perspective: that of Quintus Ennius, the first great Latin poet born in Rudiae. A short film that intertwines the grandeur of Rome with local historical roots.

What will we ask Roberto Leone in the interview?

During the episode's recording, we'll delve into his work behind the camera. We'll ask Roberto:

  • How does the inspiration to narrate such complex themes as religious devotion and the birth of Latin poetry arise?
  • Working with the actors and behind the scenes of the production of The Lady of the Sea and Pater Ennius .
  • What's the secret to bringing stories so deeply rooted in the local area to overwhelming success abroad?
  • The importance of post-screening discussion with the audience and the power of live engagement.
